Ohio State Buckeyes starting center Seth McLaughlin will miss the remainder of the college football season with a torn achilles tendon, head coach Ryan Day announced on Wednesday.

McLaughlin, who stands at 6-foot-4 and 305 pounds, has been a staple in the Buckeyes' No. 2-ranked off this season, starting all 10 games. McLaughlin transferred to Ohio State from Alabama in the offseason.

McLaughlin is set to undergo surgery next week.

This is the second major injury to hit Ohio State's offensive line. Starting left tackle Josh Simmons was shut down for the season in October after sustaining a knee injury.

Ohio State (9-1) will take on the undefeated Indiana Hoosiers (10-0) on Saturday (kick off at 12 p.m. ET on FOX). Ohio State was ranked No. 2 in the last CFB rankings, while Indiana was ranked No. 5.

Carson Hinzman, Ohio State's starting center during the 2023 season, will start in place of McLaughlin, according to Day.
