2024 World Series MVP odds: Freeman heavily favored; Volpe leaps to second

Has there ever been a World Series with more star power?

Probably not — but only one can emerge as MVP when the Los Angeles Dodgers face the New York Yankees.

Let's check out the odds for World Series MVP at DraftKings Sportsbook as of early Wednesday, with Game 5 of the Fall Classic set for this evening.

Freddie Freeman, Dodgers: -900 (bet $10 to win $11.11 total)
Anthony Volpe, Yankees: +1700 (bet $10 to win $180 total)
Juan Soto, Yankees: +2200 (bet $10 to win $230 total)
Giancarlo Stanton, Yankees: +2800 (bet $10 to win $290 total)
Aaron Judge, Yankees: +4000 (bet $10 to win $410 total)

If the Championship Series MVP results were any indication, the World Series MVP will be up for grabs based on who has a breakout performance.

And so far, Freddie Freeman has been that star.

Freeman ended Game 1 in dramatic fashion with a walkoff grand slam in the 10th inning, giving L.A. a 6-3 win.

With that, Freeman rocketed to the top of the oddsboard on Friday night.

Then, in Game 2, he went deep again, hitting a solo shot in the third inning. His odds then dropped from +280 to -110. 

Entering Game 3, he was at +100. He then hit another homer, and now his odds are all the way down to -1800.

Yes, he hit another one.

Freeman — an eight-time All Star and former NL MVP (2020) who won the World Series with Atlanta in 2021 — has seven RBIs in the World Series. The Dodgers, in total, have scored 14 runs.

Still, Freeman's odds got a bit longer after the Yankees won Game 4, a victory that was due in large part to the bat of Anthony Volpe.

Volpe hit a grand slam in the bottom of the third inning that gave New York a 5-2 advantage, an advantage it never relinquished.

Volpe entered Game 4 with just one hit and one RBI, alongside seven total strikeouts in the first three games.
